As the founder of Iles Tours (Iles Group Ltd.), I've always been driven by a deep passion for bringing history to life through storytelling. From a young age, I was utterly captivated by myths and legends, whether they were Roman, Greek, or Viking. I always had a knack for learning and retelling these fantastic stories. This early interest has stayed with me, and completing a Master's in Archeology (Distinction) following COVID-19 has allowed me to combine my storytelling passion with fantastic knowledge and facts about my region - the North East of England and the Scottish borders.

I started Iles Tours (9th March 2013) as a means of sharing the history of this region with travelers, but with the long-term aim of creating a living history centre in the North East of England, with a focus on sustainability, experimental archeology, research and re-wilding. I also work as a freelance archeologist in the North East of England.

I want to show off the North East of England by sharing the story of its fascinating past through tours, museum workshops, educational sessions and through my Youtube Channel - Alex Iles UK. I have provided Living History Guide training for Jarrow Hall - formerly Bede's World. I aim to help people understand the past and potential futures through storytelling. I wanted to offer an unforgettable experience that allows visitors to discover the rich history of North East England while also investing in its future.
