Summary

The EXARC Show is pleased to present Caitlin Southwick and Rebecca Thonander’s workshop from the digital conference “Documentation Strategies in Archaeological Open-Air Museums” on 26 March 2020. Our guests talk us through some of the ways that museums as well as individual archaeologists can bring sustainability into our everyday professional practices. Tune in for discussion about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, 10 simple actions that museums can take for sustainability, and a wealth of digital resources and planned workshops for the future.

Caitlin SouthwickCaitlin is Ki Culture’s founder and executive director. She has worked in the conservation field and in museums around the world, including the Vatican Museums, The Getty Conservation Institute, and Easter Island. Caitlin’s Professional Doctorate in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage is from the University of Amsterdam.
Rebecca ThonanderRebecca is the Communications Officer at the Network of European Museum Organizations (NEMO). After completing her Bachelors degrees in business/marketing and film studies, Rebecca primarily worked with project management at Stockholm International Film Festival as well as other film organisations. She is originally from Stockholm, Sweden but she relocated to Germany in 2016.
