Bio

I am a hobby imker with a big interest in (ancient) beekeeping practices and beekeeping science. I am currently at the head of a small Beekeepers Association in the city of Enschede, The Netherlands (NBV Enschede) until March 2026. In 2026, I will be working on my own Beekeeping Museum and Library Project. This concept covers the border region between The Netherlands and Germany and through recorded interviews (online or location), I try to collect as much as information as possible about the rural history and the role of beekeeping in our region along with the spoken languages and dialects. Last September I was invited to give some lessons in Argentina about relevant beekeeping topics like the health of the beekeeper, returning the bees to the woods and the bee as a law subject. This experienced gave me the boost to continue with my idea. I got inspired by my Argentinian colleague (whos is an historian) and what our former idea was creating a digital project to save and digitalize beekeeping books, notes and stories (narrative ) in Spanish, I discovered that this also was suitable for this project here in my area. I am still looking for titles, notes, papers and authors to gather an inventory and increase my collection for my private library. I hope in the enar future to be able to digitalize the collection/ library archive and then proceed to create a website. In Europe, my interest goes to keep the tradition of bees in the trees like it was in the early Middle Ages (Zeidlerei in German) and how this practice contributes to the health and preservation of the bees.
Recently I joined the NCvB ( Nederlandse Commissie van Bijenproducten). This is an independant organization of volunteers dedicated to protect the production of honey and related products in The Netherlands. We aim to educate beekeepers in the laboratorium studies and procedures to analize their products (honey, wax, propolis), so they know the quality of their products and the state of health of their hives.
Besides beekeeping, I am also into photography, I am busy learning to create content creating and finding new information and insights to continue with the development of this craft and science of what we call beekeeping.
According to languages, I speak four languages fluently, something that has facilitated me being able to read articles, books and also attend conferences and courses in a different language than my own, Spanish. Recently I have finished a Module on Honey Bee Health at the University of Galway.

If you have questions or any kind of inquiry, feel free to contact me.
