Call for Papers: Intangible Cultural Heritage in a Museum Context

The international workshop “Intangible Cultural Heritage in a Museum Context. The Role of Agricultural Museums, Living History Sites and Archaeological Open-Air Museums” invites contributions from museum professionals and practitioners.

The workshop will explore:

  • Best practice examples for ICH documentation, preservation, and research
  • New initiatives for ICH recognition at national and international levels
  • Strategies to strengthen the role of museums in ICH
  • Opportunities for networking and collaboration among institutions and associations

Please send your paper proposals (title + abstract of max. 200 words) by October 31, 2025 to Claus Kropp (c.kropp@kloster-lorsch.de). Indicate whether you wish to attend in person or present online.

📍 Venue: UNESCO World Heritage Site Lorsch Abbey & Lauresham Laboratory for Experimental Archaeology, Lorsch, Germany

The program will include excursions, guided tours, an exhibition opening, and a large-scale event in the open-air laboratory. Conference scholarships will also be available.
